Adele doesn't wash her Hair

Adele is not only famous for her Grammy-winning vocals, she's also known for her hair, which is often styled into her signature 60's bouffant hairstyle.Adele arrives at 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards held the at Staples Center on February 12, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.
To get that lift, fans might be surprised to know that the "Someone Like You" singer, 23, doesn't rely on an arsenal of expensive volumizing products and potions. Instead, she just turns on the faucet!
Adele
"I only wash it with water," she told Glamour in a 2008 interview. "Last night I washed my hair with shampoo for the first time in two months!"

ince breaking onto the scene that year, the British songstress has inspired several stars along the way to try out the fun, retro 'do and ditch their pin-straight styles.
At the Golden Globes in January, Busy Philipps worked the sky-high style, which she accented with a slim silver headband. The following month at Elton John's Oscar viewing party, Kim Kardashian put her own twist on the look by wearing it as a half-up,

 half-down coif.

TOP 10 best BIKES (motorcycles) in 2012

Ducati Monster 696
Price: $8495

The 696 might occupy the lowest rung on the Monster ladder, but it's a tremendous value for the rider who wants to swing a leg over a legendary Ducati for not a lot of dough. Just looking at this bike makes motorcycle geeks weak in the knees. The exposed trellis frame and the classic naked style of the Monster have inspired countless bikes.

The 696 produces 80 hp, and though it's the least expensive bike in the line, you still get Brembo brakes, Marzocchi forks, and that quintessential Ducati motor music. Newer riders won't fear this Monster; it rides smaller than it is and feels incredibly tight and nimble where others might seem cumbersome. Here is a great bike to slice through snarled traffic or the tightest canyon road you can find. Best of all, the list of accessories is long, so you upgrade your Monster 696 later and make it your own.

2011 Aprilia Shiver 750
Price: $9499

If Ducati is the two-wheel equivalent of Ferrari, then Aprilia is Lamborghini's equivalent. For less than $10,000, the Shiver 750 delivers the Italian riding experience, and plenty of tech, too, like the multimode throttle-by-wire system so the rider can select varying performance levels from the 95-hp 750cc V-twin.

The Shiver 750 is a tyke compared to Aprilia's 1000cc superbikes. But it doesn't ride like one. And like its rival, the Ducati Monster, the Shiver has an upright riding position that makes it a great commuter bike, and a comfy one for even longer trips, too. The difference here is that taller riders will appreciate the Aprilia's roomier ergonomics. The downside? That size makes it a bit heavier. Still, this is a versatile machine—one that a newer rider can grow into and an experienced one will appreciate.

Harley-Davidson Iron 883
Price: $7999

Even for a manufacturer like Harley-Davidson, which trades on its old-fashioned reputation, the Dark Custom series is like a time machine back to when motorcycles were the transportation of rebels. Back then, custom bikes were more raw and less flashy than today's chrome-plated luxo-cruisers. These new bikes ape that look with bobbed fenders, a hunkered-down stance, and flat paint finish. They've got blacked-out trim and lots of retro touches, too. But if you want the top dog Blackline, which is based on the Softail, it'll run you close to $16,000. Woof.

Instead, try the Iron 883. It's got all the hooligan style of its bigger brothers, the 1200cc Nightster and Forty-Eight, but packs the standard Sportster's less potent 883cc V-twin. There's still enough power to have fun; there's just a little less punch off the line. After some time in the saddle, the old-school simplicity of this bike makes you feel tough riding it and forget about the smaller motor. Best of all, when gas prices spike, your mean two-wheel machine delivers a combined fuel economy of 51 mpg. Keep in mind, though, that this is a smaller Harley. Those over 6 feet might need a roomier bike.

Honda Shadow RS
Price: $8240

In recent years, Honda has launched an onslaught of cruisers that have probably caught the attention of the Harley-Davidson boys in Milwaukee. First came the Fury chopper, then the Stateline and Interstate custom cruisers—all 1300cc big boys. So what about something that takes on the smallest Harley, the Sportster?

The Shadow RS aims right for the 883-size Sportsters with its classic style and 745cc V-twin. On paper it's a clone of the rough-hewn Harley. But in practical use, the Honda is tailored more for twisty roads than solely for boulevard cruising. This would be an excellent bike for the beginner cruiser rider because it's one of the least intimidating bikes on the market, and yet large enough to accommodate taller riders. And the Shadow would make for a great commute, delivering 56 mpg.

Triumph Bonneville
Price: $7699

The Triumph Bonneville is the classic British motorcycle. It looks just like the machines the coolest Brits were riding way back in the 1960s. Often, classically styled retro bikes are hideously expensive. Not the Bonnie. Here's all the old-school style for less than eight grand.

Despite its large size, don't expect the air-cooled 865cc twin to rocket the Bonneville off the line. This is a more relaxed motorcycle with just 67 hp. The Bonneville's suspension is soft and comfortable, as is the seat.

Those riders looking for some serious nostalgia can opt for the matte-green Steve McQueen Bonneville SE, a bike that takes for its inspiration the Triumph Trophy TR6 that the king of cool rode in the classic film The Great Escape.

Star Stryker
Price: $11,090

The Star Stryker is the most expensive bike on this list, but when it comes to long and low chopper-style cruisers, this one is a bargain. It undercuts Honda's Fury by more than two grand and competitive Harley-Davidsons by thousands more. The Stryker's big torque, which comes courtesy of its potent 1304cc, liquid-cooled V-twin, allows it to lope easily away from the line. And though it has some serious rake (40 degrees), the Stryker feels better connected to the road than most in the class.

With only a few inches of suspension travel at each end, the ride won't be cushy. But hey, bikes like the Stryker don't entice buyers because of their smooth ride quality. You buy them because they look tough. This Star looks mean and has the power to back up the looks. And shorter riders will have an easy time maneuvering this big guy, because the seat is less than 27 inches off the ground.

Suzuki V-Strom 650 ABS
Price: $8299

Motorcyclists who pile on the miles, either on a daily slog to the office or a blast through the mountains on a weekend tour, appreciate a more upright riding position. There's less pressure on your tailbone, you've got better visibility, and it's easier to thread the bike around tight corners—or a pesky taxicab.

The V-Strom 650 has been the bargain-priced adventure touring bike since it launched in 2003. We were smitten then. For 2012 it's been updated with an improved 645cc V-twin, with more low-end and midrange torque. It's more comfy thanks to a revised windscreen, slimmer fuel tank, and a seat that has "high" and "low" positions. Smart. The bike has also dropped some weight and wears much more stylish bodywork. Best of all, antilock brakes are part of the package, so less experienced riders will have more confidence if their commute typically includes some rain. That's a lot of bike for barely more than eight grand.

Kawasaki Ninja 250
Price: $3999

In terms of thrills per dollar, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is one of the best bargains of them all. This little guy is really fun to ride. The tiny 250cc parallel twin spins to a ludicrous 10,000 rpm and sounds sweet doing it.

Okay, so it's not fast. But it will hit 60 mph in about 7 seconds, so it's not exactly slow either. On the twisty roads, this bike handles beautifully—it's willing to play hard just like larger sportbikes. But beware; it's not a relaxing ride. The pocketsize Ninja is buzzy on the freeway.

Unlike most beginner bikes, the Ninja is a lot of fun, and you'd want to keep it in your stable even after you buy a bigger bike. And like all small bikes, it's tremendously efficient. In a PM mileage test we saw a Ninja 250R average nearly 60 mpg.

Yamaha FZ8
Price: $8690

Last year, with the launch of the FZ8, Yamaha put the established players in the naked-bike (sportbikes without bodywork) field on notice. The FZ8 was originally designed as a motorcycle for the European market, where riders prefer sporty handling dynamics. So this one will happily loaf along a backcountry road or flick its way up a tight canyon at speed. Basically, you're riding a Yamaha sportbike chassis with less bodywork and more upright handlebars.

The 779cc four-cylinder makes over 100 hp and provides plenty of grunt to move the 467-pound machine. This is one reasonably priced bike that looks cool, too. It's even tough enough to make Ducati and Aprilia owners take notice.

Zero XU
Price: $7695

Electric bikes provide all the benefits of electric cars, are much more fun to ride, and don't have to be excessively expensive. Zero's XU, for example, is the least expensive street bike in its lineup. The bike has a redesigned powertrain for 2012, with an extended range of 42 miles, and quicker charging, too.

Now, don't expect this bike to perform like a traditional gas-powered bike. It's obviously not meant for the long trips. But the battery is said to last for more than 3000 charges, or around 100,000 miles. Speaking of charging, the XU's 2.6-kwh pack is removable, so you can charge it in your office if you can't park near a plug. This feathery 221-pound bike isn't a rocket, but it will let you hit 65 mph. And if you cruise at 55 mph, that battery charge will last for 28 miles. Not too shabby.

Advantage of Dogs

Dogs could lower stress at workDog in the office, taking dog to work

Bringing your dog to the office could lower your stress levels and improve morale among your fellow employees, a study suggests.Although bringing a pet to work could come with practical difficulties, a trial at an American company suggested it improved people's job satisfaction.
Dog owners also reported that it reduced their feelings of stress, which previous studies suggest can lead to higher rates of absence and lower productivity.
Researchers from Virginia Commonwealth University studied 75 people at a manufacturing company where each day for a trial week 20 to 30 people were allowed to bring their dogs to work.
Using samples of saliva taken throughout the day they compared levels of stress hormones among people who brought in their pets, people who owned dogs but left them at home, and staff who did not have pets.
First thing in the morning there was no difference between the groups, but during the day stress levels declined among people who had their dogs by their side and increased among the other two groups.Having dogs in the workplace appeared to improve morale among all members of staff, regardless of whether their pets were present, the researchers reported in the International Journal of Workplace Health Management.
Randolph Barker, who led the study, said: "The differences in perceived stress between days the dog was present and absent were significant. The employees as a whole had higher job satisfaction than industry norms."

Al-Qaeda 'plotting another 9/11’ from Afghanistan

Al-Qaeda 'plotting another 9/11’ from AfghanistanRyan Crocker, the American ambassador to Kabul

Al-Qaeda fighters have returned to Afghanistan and will use the country as a base to launch September 11-style attacks on Western cities, according to the American ambassador to Kabul.if the West was to leave Afghanistan too early, al-Qaeda would be able to increase its presence.
With the US preparing to withdraw the majority of its combat forces from Afghanistan next year, Mr Crocker warned: “If we decide we’re tired, they’ll be back.
“Al-Qaeda is still present in Afghanistan. If the West decides that 10 years in Afghanistan is too long then they will be back, and the next time it will not be New York or Washington, it will be another big Western city.”
Mr Crocker, 62, who previously served as ambassador to Iraq, said that while progress had been made, Afghanistan would need Western support for years to come.
Nato officials believe that up to 100 al-Qaeda fighters have returned to the country, based mainly in the Kunar and Nuristan provinces near the border with Pakistan. Hundreds more are based in Pakistan and could return if circumstances were to change.

Wounded British soldiers launch Everest bid

Wounded British soldiers launch Everest bid
Wounded British soldiers will begin a climb up Mount Everest on Saturday, aiming to reach the summit for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The team of five current and former British Army soldiers are part of the Walking with the Wounded charity and were waved off by Prince Harry, its patron, on Tuesday.
The soldiers, which include one soldier who lost an arm and one who was shot through the chest in Afghanistan, will take the normal South East Ridge route pioneered by New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953.
The team climbed Mount Manaslu, the world's eighth tallest peak at 26,781 feet in western Nepal last year as part of their training for Everest, the world's tallest mountain at 29,035-feet.
They will set off for Base Camp on Saturday, and aim to reach the peak in May."It is teamwork," said David Wiseman from Tadcaster, a 29-year-old captain shot in the chest during a battle with the Taliban in 2009. "If one guy finds a particular thing like using the crampons difficult, the others can help him."

Martin Hewitt, 31, who trekked to the North Pole with the charity in 2011 and is a former captain who has a paralysed right arm after being shot in Afghanistan in 2007 said: "I am so excited, very excited and a little bit nervous."
Prince Harry, who last year spent four days with a Walking With The Wounded expedition to the North Pole waved the group off earlier this week from Heathrow airport.
"The expedition to The Himalayas – of which I am so proud to be patron – is raising money to train and educate those with physical and cognitive injuries suffered in war to manage their transition into civilian employment," he said.
The others taking part are private Jaco van Gass, 25, who lost an arm in a grenade attack in Afghanistan, ex-private Karl Hinett, 25, who sustained burns to his legs, hands and face in Iraq, and Captain Francis Atkinson, 31, whose right arm no longer functions properly after a gunshot wound in Afghanistan.
Everest climbing season started in March and continues through May. Climbers wait in tents for a window of good weather to make the summit bid before the onset of annual monsoon rains.
Although summit bids are generally made in May when the weather improves, climbers begin heading to the mountain in March or early April to have time to set up camps and shuttle between them in order to adjust to the thin air at high altitude.
Hundreds of foreign climbers go to Mount Everest and other peaks in Nepal every year. Mountain climbing is a key component of tourism, which accounts for four per cent of gross domestic product annually.
More than 4,000 people have reached the top of Mount Everest since Hillary and Tenzing's climb – among them a 13 year-old American boy, a 76-year-old man, a blind person and a man with artificial limb.

Einstein proved correct on view of the universe

Einstein proved correct on view of the universe

Albert Einstein has been proved correct in his view of how the universe is expanding, according to a scientific study released today.
Dr. Albert Einstein writes out an equation for the density of the Milky Way on the blackboard at the Carnegie Institute in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 14, 1931

Albert Einstein has been proved correct in his view of how the universe is expanding, according to a scientific study released today. The new test of Einstein's view of the universe has proved him right with ''incredible accuracy'' and is helping scientists to understand the mysterious acceleration of the universe.

A team of cosmologists have announced at the National Astronomy Meeting being held at the University of Manchester, the most accurate measurement ever made from when the expansion of the universe began to accelerate.
It means that the phenomenon can be explained using just Einstein's general theory of relativity and the cosmological constant - the simplest theoretical explanation for the acceleration of the universe.
The results will be used to understand what is causing the acceleration and why, and will shed new light on dark energy - the name adopted for the fundamental agent driving the acceleration about which little is known.
The cosmologists from the University of Portsmouth and the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics have examined the period between five and six billion years ago when the universe was almost half its present age and made measurements of extraordinary accuracy - within 1.7 per cent. The findings support Einstein's general theory of relativity which predicts how fast galaxies, separated by large distances, should be moving toward one another and at what rate the structure of the universe should be growing.
The conclusions are consistent with the concordance model of a universe that bloomed from the big bang 13.7 million years ago.
Team member Dr Rita Tojeiro said: ''The results are the best measurement of an intergalactic distance ever made, which means cosmologists are closer than ever to understanding why the universe's expansion is accelerating.
''One of the great things about Einstein's general theory of relativity is that it is testable. Our results support the theory and are fully consistent with the notion that constant vacuum energy - empty space creating a repulsive force - is driving the acceleration of the universe.
''These are profound statements that describe the physics of our universe at the most fundamental level.
''Critically, the results find no evidence that dark energy is simply an illusion stemming from our poor understanding of the laws of gravity - Einstein's theory has passed its most stringent test yet at extra-galactic scales.''
The experiment was designed to follow up on an observation made in 1998, when scientists studied the brightness of mighty stellar explosions to deduce that the universe's expansion is, against all odds and against our understanding of fundamental physics, becoming increasingly fast.
The new discoveries are based on work by a collaboration of astronomers from across the globe representing the Baryon Acoustic Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (BOSS), part of the third Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-III), which is mapping the three-dimensional positions of more than one million galaxies.
Professor Will Percival, head of this team at the university's Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation, said: ''Dark Energy was only discovered 14 years ago, and there's this feeling that we are still riding the wave of discovery.
''It's a very exciting time to be a cosmologist.''
Meanwhile, Einstein's brain has gone on show as a star attraction at an exhibition of human brains.
Other brains on display at The Wellcome Trust, London, include those of Charles Babbage and William Burke.
The exhibition, Brains: the mind as matter, includes more than 150 objects such as rare images of real brains, artworks, manuscripts, artefacts, videos and photography.
Curator Dr Marius Kwint, art historian and University of Portsmouth lecturer in visual culture, said: ''The exhibition shows how a single, fragile organ has become the object of modern society's most profound hopes, fears and beliefs, and some of its most extreme practices and advanced technologies.
''The different ways in which we have treated and represented real, physical brains open up a lot of questions about our collective minds.
''The brain is the most complex entity in the known universe and the exhibition is a fascinating exploration of how humans have tried to come to terms with this infinitely mysterious organ.''

FACEBOOK offers 1.34 cr pay package for engineering student in INDIA

Social networking giant Facebook has hired an engineering student for an annual pay package of Rs 1.34 crore, one of the biggest offers made to alumnus of any technical institution of the country.

According to Mr P. Chakravarti, Director of the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, a B.Tech student from the institute, who has requested that his name be withheld for “security reasons”, received a letter on March 27 from Facebook confirming his appointment and the annual pay package on offer was stated to be $262,500 (around Rs 1.34 crore).

Interestingly, the institute director said that the recruitment process began with a mail from Facebook “in October last year which was followed by nine rounds of telephonic interviews” before he was finally selected for the plush job. The student, who hails from Kanpur, has to move now to Menlo Park in California after finishing his software engineering course at the institute.

“Many students from our institute have bagged lucrative jobs. We have knowledge of at least 30 of our alumni getting selected with packages of more than Rs 10 lakh from companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe etc,” Mr Chakravarti said.

“However, this one has been unprecedented and we are sure that no other student from any of the other institutions in the city or the more than two dozen National Institutes of Technology across the country has so far been offered such an awesome pay package,” he added.

MOST expensive Cars in the World

What is the most expensive car in the world? The 1931 Bugatti Royale Kellner Coupe was sold for $8,700,000 in 1987. However, that car and many alike will not be included in this list because it is not available on the market today. It is hard to imagine someone would actually spend 8 million dollars on a car instead of using it for something more productive. However, if you had the money and opportunity, you would probably spend a small fraction of it on a collection of supercars for your private garage.

Here are the 10 most expensive street legal production cars on the market (at least 2 available); we will not include concept cars.World's Most Expensive Cars:

Bugatti Veyron: Most Expensive Car in The World1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sports $2,400,000. This is by far the most expensive street legal car available on the market today (the base Veyron costs $1,700,000). It is the fastest accelerating car reaching 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. It is also the fastest street legal car when tested again on July 10, 2010 with the 2010 Super Sport Version reaching a top speed of 267 mph. When competing against the Bugatti Veyron, you better be prepared...

There is a tie for #2

2. Aston Martin One-77 $1,850,000. The name "One-77" says it all: beauty and power in One, limited to 77 units. With 750 hp, it is able to travel from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 220 mph.

2. Pagani Zonda Clinque Roadster $1,850,000. One of the most exotic cars out there is also one of the most expensive. It can go from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph.

We have another tie for 3rd place:

3. Lamborghini Reventon $1,600,000. The most powerful and the most expensive Lamborghini ever built is the third on the list. It takes 3.3 seconds to reach 60 mph and it has a top speed of 211 mph. Its rarity (limited to 20) and slick design are the reasons why it is so expensive and costly to own.

Lamborghini Reventon side view

3. Koenigsegg Agera R $1,600,000. The Agera R can burn 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 260 mph. It has the parts to reach 270 mph, but the supercar is electronically capped at 235 mph. With the completion of certain paperwork, the company will unlock the speed limit for one occasion.

4. Maybach Landaulet $1,380,000. The Landaulet is the most expensive sedan on the market and it can reach from 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. Probably the most luxurious car ever made with a convertible roof that can open fully at the rear. This car is made especially for those CEOs and Executives who have their own personal driver.

5. Zenvo ST1 $1,225,000. Able to reach 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 233 mph. The Zenvo ST1 is from a new Danish supercar company that will compete to be the best in speed and style. The ST1 is limited to 15 units and the company even promised "flying doctors" to keep your car running.

6. McLaren F1 $970,000. In 1994, the McLaren F1 was the fastest and most expensive car. Even though it was built more than 15 years ago, it has an unbelievable  top speed of 240 mph and reaching 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. Even today, the McLaren F1 is still top on the list and outperforms many other supercars.

McLaren F1 Orange with doors open

7. Ferrari Enzo $670,000. The most popular supercar ever built. The Enzo has a top speed of 217 mph and reaching 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Only 400 units were produced and it is currently being sold for over $1,000,000 at auctions.

Ferrari Enzo track run front view

8. Pagani Zonda C12 F $667,321. Produced by a small independent company in Italy, the Pagani Zonda C12 F is the 8th most expensive car in the world. It promises to delivery a top speed of 215 mph+ and it can reach 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
Pagani Zonda C12 F: 2nd Most Expensive Car in the World

9. SSC Ultimate Aero $654,400. Don't let the price tag fool you, this American made car is actually the 3rd fastest street legal car in the world with a top speed of 257 mph+ and reaching 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. This baby cost less than half as much as the Bugatti Veyron, yet has enough power to compete against the most expensive car. It is estimated that only 25 of this exact model will ever be produced.

SSC Ultimate Aero 3rd most expensive car in the world

10. Ascari A10 $650,000. This badboy can reach a tested top speed of 215 mph, zooming 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. The British car company plans to assemple 50 of these supercars in their factory in Banbury, England.

Army Chief......... Forwards To CBI........... Trinamool MP's Corruption Charges Against Serving Lt. General

New Delhi, March 29: The Army Chief Gen V K Singh has dropped another scam bomb, by forwarding to the CBI on Wednesday a letter from Trinamool Congress MP Ambika Banerjee levelling corrupting charges against a serving Lt. Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag, presently commanding the Dimapur-based 3 Corps, and is in line after Lt gen Bikgram Singh to become the next Army Chief, The Indian Express reported.

The Army Chief’s direct forwarding of the MP’s letter to the CBI is set to open another can of worms.  The letter was written in May 2011.

For, the MP has alleged widespread “procurement scams” in the “secretive” Special Frontier Force — when Lt Gen Dalbir Singh was its Inspector General — including alleged payoffs for the purchase of night-vision devices, communication systems, weapons as well as parachutes.

The SFF is under the administrative control of the Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW), the country’s premier foreign intelligence agency.

The MP also named Army officers, including a former Army Chief, who he alleged received crores in kickbacks for defence procurements and amassed “huge” disproportionate assets. Banerjee named agents who he claims dealt with these procurements.

The Army Chief’s latest “complaint’’ reached the CBI headquarters barely a day after a team from the agency visited his office to begin a “comprehensive” probe into the bribery charges made by him against Lt Gen Tejinder Singh.

In a covering letter signed by General Singh, he asked the CBI to look into Banerjee’s allegations.

The timing of the MP’s two-page letter being sent by the Chief — just under a year after it was written to the Prime Minister and Defence Minister A K Antony — is significant given the fact that General Singh is known to be opposed to the appointment of Lt Gen Dalbir Singh as one of the Army Commanders while the Ministry of Defence is backing it.

In his note, the Army Chief has claimed that the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) of a senior Army officer who was on deputation to the SFF was downgraded by Lt Gen Dalbir Singh — who was then Major General — because the officer did not “succumb’’ to pressure of a cartel which wanted to sell parachutes to the force.

The Army Chief has not named this officer but has said that he received a representation from him.

Trinamool Congress MP Ambika Banerjee confirmed he had written such a letter to the Defence Minister last year.

He said: “I had received a response from the Ministry of Defence that the allegations would be inquired into but I have not heard from the Government ever since.’’

The CBI will, evidently, contact the Ministry of Defence. With the SFF being under R&AW’s administrative control, the CBI may have to deal with the Cabinet Secretariat.

First, it was the alleged offer of a Rs 14-crore bribe for the purchase of trucks that he attributed to his former colleague Lt General Tejinder Singh.

Then, he sent a letter to the Prime Minister on what he called were glaring gaps in the Army.  With the latest forwarding of the Trinamool Congress MP's letter to the CBI, the Army Chief has literally opened up a can of worms.

Pakistan Polio action

Pakistan to punish parents who do not have children vaccinated for polio
Pakistan is planning to punish parents who fail to have their children vaccinated as part of an increasingly desperate effort to halt the spread of polio. The country is one of three – along with Afghanistan and Nigeria – that have failed to eradicate the virus.
Now the government is promising to take a more muscular approach to the problem by making immunisation compulsory, fining parents of children who are not protected and prosecuting religious groups who spread misinformation about vaccines.
Draft legislation, unveiled to coincide with a March vaccination drive, promises fines of more than £700 for parents who fail to comply.
Children could also be barred from school if they do not have an immunisation card.
Last year there were 198 cases of polio in Pakistan's tribal areas where limited health care, insecurity and large populations of refugees make it difficult to administer vaccine.Immunisation efforts have also been hampered by fears that programmes may be use by foreign intelligence agencies. Last year it emerged that the CIA used a fake vaccination campaign in Abbottabad as spies closed in on Osama bin Laden's hideaway.
As many as 200,000 children have missed their polio vaccinations in the past two years.
Health officials fear Pakistan could become a global incubator of the crippling disease.
Earlier this month the World Health Organisation warned that Pakistan could face international travel sanctions if it was unable to eradicate the disease.

Twitter admits 'unfollowing bug'

Twitter admits 'unfollowing bug'
Twitter users are being affected by a bug which is causing them to ‘unfollow’ fellow tweeters without their permission. The microblogging company has now admitted that there is a problem. A Twitter spokesman said: “This is a bug, and our team is working to fix it.”Having wrestled with the best way to choose a new leader, the Church of England has decided to use the social networking site Twitter. It will also seek the views of people of all faiths and none, from the Chief Rabbi to Professor Richard Dawkins.
The bug is causing Twitter users to randomly unfollow people without account holders’ prior consent or knowledge. Twitter has advised affected people to visit its support page and go to fellow tweeters’ profile pages to check whether they are still following them or not.
Labour MP and fanatic tweeter, Tom Watson, has been affected by the bug and tweeted: “I thought I was doing something wrong,” and then linked to an advice column on the topic, published by Jeremiah Owyang, a technology industry analyst writing for TechCrunch.
Owyang wrote: “I wonder how many businesses, personal, and casual relationships are strained by the bug haphazardly unfollowing. It causes us to give pause and question the stability of the Twitter infrastructure, usage of my personal data and social network, and what important messages I may have missed from my trusted Twitter network.”
Thousands of users have been tweeting about their experiences of the unfollow bug and their reaction to it.
Adam Rifkin, the co-founder of a conversation website Pandwhale, tweeted, “Is it me or has Twitter's unfollow bug been going on for a while? Why is this such a hard bug to fix?”
While Janet Davis, an art and design historian, posted: “Twitter's always done it. [It's] worse in recent weeks.”

Barack Obama -the lates person to join Pinterest

Barack Obama signs up for Pinterest
President Barack Obama has become the latest person to join Pinterest, the new hit social network, which lets people ‘pin’ photos of their favourite items to a virtual pinboard.
Pinterest lets its millions of users post photos on their personalised digital pinboards. These can be pictures they have taken themselves or images collected from around the web. There is no limit to how many boards you can have and users are collecting all kinds of things, from clothes they want to buy to possible paint colours for a decorating project.
Once something has been pinned, others can re-pin it, making it possible for an image to spread throughout the social network. Though the buzz around Pinterest has only just begun, the site launched in 'closed beta' almost two years ago.
Mr Obama’s Pinterest board features picture of his family, food recipes ‘for change’ and also artwork featuring his face – entitled ‘ObamArt’.
The US President’s page is run by his 2012 campaign team, 'Obama for America' and features eight boards, 32 pins and already had 3,859 followers at the time of publication.

Google to introduce new feature.

Google 'to take on Facebook with new FEATURE...........
Google is about to launch a new commenting system to rival Facebook’s across the web, according to a report. The new platform, which will feed into Google’s new social network Google+, its search engine and other third party websites, is set to rival Facebook’s widespread commenting system, reports technology news site, The Next Web.
The Google comment system “will have deep links to Google’s network of services and websites, indexing comments in Google search and most significantly, the system will be available for use on third party sites”, says the piece.
Google declined to comment.
Increasing numbers of sites allow people to comment using their Facebook account and now Google looks set to challenge that dominance.
The move will attempt to further cement together Google+ and the rest of the company’s web properties and the internet at large.
Google+ has topped 90 million registrations, but it is unclear how many are active.
Facebook has more than 850 million members and thousands of sites have plugged in its commenting system to their sites.
Separately Google has announced that Google+ will be rolling out vanity URLs soon - which allow users their own personalised web addresses via the social network.

Kindle TOuch to be launched in UK

Amazon declined, however, to give any details on when the Kindle Fire would launch in the UK. The company’s colour, touchscreen Kindle, has sold well in the United States by undercutting Apple’s iPad. Amazon did not deny, however, that UK users may in fact have to wait for a new version of the Kindle Fire, rather than expect to see a belated launch for the current product.
The Kindle Touch introduces a touchscreen to Amazon’s Kindle range for the first time, adding a touch-sensitive layer to the familiar e-ink black and white screen. It will sell for £109, compared to £89 for the standard Kindle. A version with 3G mobile access, allowing free downloading of books across the world, will retail at £169. Both models are available for pre-order now and will ship at the end of April. The Touch is already available in America.
Amazon also announced that there are now over a million Kindle books, as well as a further million copyright-free electronic books available to all e-readers. The company said Kindle owners buy at least three times as many books as those who read only paper versions.
Since its introduction, the Kindle has been the top-selling product across the entire Amazon site. The new Touch model can hold up to 3,000 books and claims a two-month battery life based on a half-hour’s use per day. It is also the first to add Amazon’s ‘X-ray’ feature, which allows users to see key themes on any given page and compare them to major themes within the book, as well as linking to Wikipedia.
The Kindle’s 6" screen size is unchanged, and the Touch weighs 213g, while the Touch 3G is 220g. Both feature a touchscreen that is designed to be used with just one hand to turn pages, and Amazon’s ‘Whispersync’, which synchronises content across different devices using the Kindle software.

JUSTIN BIEBER gets beaten

The 18-year-old

Canadian pop star get bruised, battered and bloody for a boxing themed photo shoot.Shot by Irish fashion photographer Tony Kelly, who has previously worked with Vanity Fair, Vogue Paris and GQ, Bieber is shown dressed in a dinner jacket and bow tie while engaged in a violent bout in an LA boxing gym.

The teenage singer is photographed repeatedly being hit in the face and spewing blood, at times being helped up by a bikini-clad girl. The images feature in Complex magazine's 10th anniversary issue.
In an interview to accompany the picturesBieber speaks of his relationship with actress and pop star Selena Gomez, saying that hiding their relationship would be "unfair" to the couple.
He also describes the lengths they have to go to avoid the press.
"At that point, it's not even a relationship. You're just hiding from everyone. That's unfair and unhealthy, man, " he is quoted as saying.

James cameron dives to the bottom of the deepest trench in the world

Film director James Cameron explains the scientific importance of his dive to the bottom of the deepest trench in the world.

James Cameron, the director of "Titanic" and "Avatar", has reached the deepest part of the ocean. He descended nearly 36,000 feet (11km) into the Mariana Trench - deeper than any solo mission in history.
We have to go because we don't know what's there. We have a general idea, we know that we're going to see very strange animals like anthropods and holothurians and other kinds of invertebrate, but science can't answer one very basic question. Are there fish? We don't know,” Cameron said before the dive.
In the historic solo dive, Cameron spent a just over three hours at 35,756 feet before he began his return to the surface in a specially designed submarine called Deepsea Challenger.
The lowest point of the Mariana Trench has been reached only once before in 1960 when US Navy captain Don Walsh and Swiss oceanographer Jacques Piccard spent 20 minutes there. Walsh was on hand to send off Cameron on his record-setting mission.
The 12-ton, lime-green submarine made the trip to the bottom in 2 hours, 37 minutes, much faster than the previous mission and returned after a quicker than expected 70 minute ascent.

PRINCE HARRY outshone by BLIND girl's speech

A girl who has been blind since birth upstaged Prince Harry by giving a flawless speech in front of a packed sports stadium on Monday.

Anna Albury, 12, told 11,000 students in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, that “although I am blind, I do not accept this as a disadvantage”, as she encouraged others to “pursue your dreams”.
Prince Harry, who sat next to Anna on a platform during a youth rally, chatted to her for several minutes during the formalities and after her speech he turned to her and said, “well done”.
In his own speech, the Prince, who was greeted by deafening screams when he entered the stadium, drew more cheers when he told the children they were doing their country proud, adding: “Damn, you look smart.”
Anna, who lives on the island of Abaco, was named Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year 2011 for her academic achievements.
She said: “Oh my gosh, it was amazing to meet Prince Harry. I was so excited and I just loved it and can’t wait to tell my family about it.
“He was very friendly. After my speech he congratulated me and said, 'Well done.’ All of the children I sit with at school were like 'Oh my gosh’ … they were so excited I was meeting him.”
The Prince, wearing a linen suit, open-necked shirt and sunglasses, watched children march past in groups representing their schools, clubs and associations.
Later at a reception celebrating Bahamian youth leaders, Prince Harry, met the reigning Miss Bahamas, who was said to have professed her intention to marry him.
However, Anastagia Pierre, 23, was suddenly struck by a bout of shyness. She said the Prince laughed off newspaper stories in which she said she was “in love” with him. “I didn’t ask him to marry me,” she said. “I was presented to him as 'the one that everyone has been talking about’ and he said, 'So you’re the one!’
“I said it was supposed to be light-hearted and had been blown out of all proportion, and he said, 'It always is.’ ”
Þ The Duchess of Cambridge is to make her first speech as a working member of the Royal family when she visits The Treehouse, a children’s hospice in Ipswich, Suffolk, on March 19..........

Law of Gravity in Ancient india

Bhaskaracharya's Law of Gravity
Did you know that the famous Hindu astronomer, Bhaskaracharya in his Surya Siddhanta wrote:

"Objects fall on the earth due to a force of attraction by the earth. Therefore, the earth, planets, constellations, moon and sun are held in orbit due to this attraction."

It was not until 1687, 1200 years later did Issac Newton "rediscover" the Law of Gravity.

In Surya Siddhanta, dated 400-500 AD, the ancient Hindu astronomer Bhaskaracharya states,

"Objects fall on the earth due to a force of attraction by the earth. Therefore, the earth, planets, constellations, moon, and sun are held in orbit due to this force."

Approximately 1200 years later (1687 AD), Sir Isaac Newton rediscovered this phenomenon and called it the Law of Gravity.

Pythagoras theorem or Baudhayana Theorem?

Pythagorean Theorem or Baudhayana Theorem?
Did you know that the so-called Pythagoras Theorem that the square of the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle equals to the sum of the square of the other two sides was documented by the famed Hindu mathematician Baudhayana in his 6th century BC treatise called Baudhayana Sulba Sutra?

Baudhayana states:

"The area produced by the diagonal of a rectangle is equal to the sum of area produced by it on two sides.

Largest measurement of Time

The ancient Hindus had given the world the idea of the smallest and largest measuring units of Time. Astonishingly, the ancient Hindus used the following units of time:

Unit Equivalent Equivalent
Krati ------34,000th of a second
1 Truti---------- 300th of a second
2 Truti-----1 Luv
2 Luv ----1 Kshana
30 Kshana -----1 Vipal
60 Vipal--- 1 Pal
60 Pal ----Ghadi 24 minutes
2.5 Gadhi----- 1 Hora---- 1 Hour
24 Hora----- 1 Divas---- 1 Day
7 Divas---- 1 Saptaah----- 1 Week
4 Saptaah -----1 Maas -----1 Month
2 Maas----------- 1 Rutu (season)
6 Rutu =1 Varsh 1 Year
100 Varsh--- 1 Shataabda 1 Century
10 Shataabda ---1 Sahasraabda 10 Centuries or 1000 Years
432 Sahasraabda ----1 Yuga 4320 Centuries or 432000 Years
10 Yuga---- 1 Mahayuga ----43200 Centuries or 4320000 Years
1000 Mahayuga ----1 Kalpa ---------43200000 Centuries or 4.32 Billion Years

India gave the largest measurement of time as 8.64 billion years.

The Gregorian calendar on your desk simply adds on one day for every 4 years and is not in coherence with the movement of sun. But, Hindu calendar is in coherence as the short fall is corrected in the month itself by adding Adhikamasa as postulated by Maharshi Vishwamitra. Rig Veda 1.164.1, 2, 14 and 15 describe sun's motion, ritus and colours of spectrum. Kalyana varma, Varahamihira, Jaimini, Vidyanatha Deekshita, Kalidasa, Mantreshwara, Satyacharya, Venkatadri, Parashara, Ramadayalu and Garga have immensely contributed for the development of Hindu astrology.
